Turned sycamore bowl with glass tiles
A hand-turned bowl where light sycamore wood meets deep blue tones and decorative details inspired by Indian design.
The bowl measures approximately 21.5 cm in diameter and is between 3.5 and 4 cm high. The wide rim is stained in Royal Blue, while the wood's natural grain and annual rings are still visible through the color. Around the rim, 21 small glass tiles with Indian-inspired patterns are inlaid, placed in a circle following the shape of the bowl.
Inside, the bowl is treated with homemade food-safe beeswax, which enhances the wood and provides a pleasant, natural surface.
The back is stained with blue and orange tones, giving the bowl a cohesive look even when not in use.
The bowl is suitable as a decoration on a table or sideboard, but can also be used for nuts, fruit, or other dry foods.
Each bowl is turned individually in the workshop, and small variations in wood, colors, and expression make each piece unique.
